I’m Not Joking and The 3 Best Ways to Start a Monday
Don’t you just love a fresh and crisp and shiny new Monday morning? I promise, I’m not joking.
Monday’s are EXTRA wonderful when they start with a good motivational list. Don’t you agree?
Monday’s are wonderful days for fresh starts and new dreams. It’s almost like your very own personal Happy New Year, every single week.
Monday’s are wonderful days to look at the week ahead and brain storm a good plan to come out strong to win-the-race-and fulfill-your-purpose, kind of days.
I’ll share the 3 best ways to start a Monday, in case you’re lacking motivation.
1. Make your bed. It only takes 30 seconds or less… depending on how fast you move and how many decorative pillows you arrange. You’ll feel so accomplished when you see something neat and orderly in your room.
2. Go thru your home, early, while it is still dark (maybe) and light candles to quietly wake up your house and say good morning…a nice quiet gentle, “Good morning, Monday! How are you today?” If things became untidy over the weekend this is a great time to quickly put them back in place…not deep cleaning…just tidying…setting your home in order for the week. You’ll feel your heart smile.
3.Make a list to keep track of your day and wonderful opportunities and experiences that you want to remember. Include a scripture or motivational thought that you want to ponder for the week. If you are interested in a copy of the list prompts I use for this, I can email you a copy.
{{{ This week’s motivational thought: The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago AND today! So start today! }}}
Now that my 3 best ways to begin a fresh Monday have been exposed…sometimes, in full disclosure and honesty, I have to give myself a good old fashioned “talkin’ to” of pull myself up by the boot straps and get going.
And if your alarm is blaring and you’re running late or your kids are climbing all over you in bed begging for breakfast or the cat is sitting in your head or the dog is barking by the door waiting to be left out… then it’s perfectly fine to forget everything you just read here and make it thru Monday… your very own fresh Happy New Year this week.
And I’m not joking!
Not even one tiny bit!
So how’s your Monday?

I love your Monday morning suggestions! I try getting my bed made as soon as I’m up! It makes the room look so much better! I love the idea of lighting candles first thing! And making weekend clutter disappear! Thanks for the great ideas!
Thank you, Esther! I’m glad you enjoyed it. This morning, I realized I was doing these very things without even thinking about it. When I realized it, I thought to myself how I had just blogged about it. It is more difficult when circumstances are hectic as life can be at times.
Very interesting and good suggestions. All fit in together with all the daily activities of our days. Have a Happy Tuesday too!
Thank you, Donnie! It is amazing all that can be done in a day when you set your mind to it.
Yes and yesssss! I’m always happier when my bed is made and a candle is making my day smell better. Thanks for the Monday tips friend!

Yes!! Candles do make the day smell better!! Thank you, KariAnne!
Rachel I really like your idea of lighting candles in the morning. It would totally transform the atmosphere. As for the bed, I make it every morning and it makes a world of difference.
Mary, yes having the bed made(at least for me) is so very important. And the candles truly do transform the atmosphere.
